Your Key Steps

What’s the next step?

Once you have set out the purpose of your trip and researched your itinerary and budget, then start filling out the application form and answer each question clearly and concisely, with as much relevant information as possible.

We want to receive considered applications that address each question in detail. To ensure this is a fair process and applications are considered on their merit, we need all questions to be answered in full. Please do not miss out information and assume that we will fill in the gaps.

If any of the questions are unclear to you, or if you need support with completing our application, please do not hesitate to get in touch using the contact form.

If you haven’t provided sufficient information in the right format you will be informed that we won’t be considering your application and you’ll be provided with an overview of what they consider to be missing.

When will you hear a decision on your travel proposal?

  • You can expect a decision within one month of the deadline. This is because we receive a large number of applications and give each its due consideration.

  • Sometimes you will receive a response sooner; sometimes extenuating circumstances mean that the process takes a little longer, but one month is what we aim for.

There’s no time like the present…

Join the dozens of Islanders Rivington has helped take cultural adventures abroad

Once Rivington has met and considered your application, you will receive an email informing you whether or not your application has been successful.

If your application is successful, you will receive an agreement outlining the terms and conditions of your funding. It is important that you read this thoroughly and understand what it all means before signing and returning a copy. We can explain anything that isn’t clear to you.

We expect the conditions of the agreement to be honoured, the trip to be delivered as applied for, and for you to conduct a post-trip evaluation. Any changes or issues need to be communicated to us immediately, for evaluation.

When you return your signed agreement, the funding amount will be paid by States of Jersey Treasury. You must keep all evidence of expenditure (receipts), as we may ask to see it on your return.

If you are successful you will be asked to provide certain materials and content that reflect on your trip, the process of applying and the difference the experiences have made to you. This will be in photographic, written word and where appropriate video.

If your application is unsuccessful, we will offer feedback and reasons for the decision. We don’t want you to be put off applying for the Rivington in the future and will be clear as to why you were unsuccessful.

Good luck!
